IS THIS CURRICULUM OG?
Often there is a misconception about what OG reading intervention really is. OG stands for Orton-Gillingham after the doctors that coined this methodology. It's important to recognize that is what Orton-Gillingham is - a methodolody that when used well can be incredibly effective in remediating reading disorders for children. It is not a specific trademarked curriculum.
HOW OFTEN IS NEW CONTENT ADDED?
We are adding new content all the time! Our website subscribers receive two e-mails per month with new content that is not linked on the site as a way to say "thank you". We are adding new content to the website at least every other week so check back often.
Anyone that subscribes to our e-mail newsletter will receive one e-mail per week for the first three months you join us - then we will kick it back to once per month to keep you in the loop without filling up your inbox!
WHAT IF I WANT SOMETHING SPECIFIC CREATED?
Our Founding Members will have access to request specific content, materials, courses, and games. We are limiting our Founding Membership to the first 100 subscribers, so subscribe now for the opportunity to request specific content. If you choose not to be a founding member you can still send us your ideas and we will work through our list of requested resources as we can.
HOW DO I KNOW WHERE TO START?
This is a difficult question to answer. Every student comes in at a different place and with different prior knowledge. Wherever possible it is incredibly helpful to review prior assessment from a neuropsychological test battery or another standardized measure like the PALS or WIST to determine where to start. We are in the process of developing a basic screener to help you find a starting place. In the meantime, join our community we are happy to help!
WHAT IF I HAVE CASE-SPECIFIC QUESTIONS?
Join our Facebook community. Here you can ask questions (make sure you keep your student data confidential) and get the support you need to help progress your student along through our curriculum or any OG-based curriculum you may be using. We will also be conducting regular Facebook Live events for Q&A sessions. If you don't have Facebook, no worries, you can submit your questions via e-mail to the link at the bottom of this page and we will respond within 24 hours.
